The Phandom Menace presents the definitive look at the most devoted fans on the planet. Follow the lives of Australia's most passionate Star Wars fans as the moment they've waited 16 years for is suddenly upon them. See the amazing costumes, trivia soaked brains, vast collections and unconditional dedication that make these fans a breed apart. Be stunned by the shockwaves that echo through the Star Wars fan community at the dawn of its new prequel era.
This is an often funny, inadvertently touching documentary about Star Wars-mania in Australia, but it could really be anywhere.

A short but hugely entertaining documentary that deftly treads the line between reverence and parody, The Phandom Menace is great viewing even for those who've never seen a Star Wars film and have wondered about the people that keep going on about it all.

Phandom Menace is probably one of the strongest "fans" documentaries that I've seen, getting to the substance of what draws these people to the films.

If The Phandom Menace had been made with a more cynical eye - and to be honest, if it had been just plain meaner, like Trekkies - it would have been much better. As it stands, there are moments of curiosity and moments of boredom... a lot like The Phantom Menace, come to think of it.

Sadly, this documentary is bland and largely without humor.
