10 Rolling Stone | Rob Sheffield

Finally -- a DVD of the greatest New Wave concert film of all time. 101 is an essential Eighties time capsule, as Depeche Mode spread blasphemous rumors through America.

This is an essential purchase for fans of Basildon's finest, and a reminder of the days when the unlikely lads were derided by their critics. Not any more!

10 Groove.no | Øyvind Adde

101 is an exceptionally well made music documentary, perfectly timed to - and perhaps even part of - the transition Depeche Mode made into a band for the masses. Stadium fillers. With great music, Spinal Tap moments, and uniquely private footage of the band and the people surrounding them, 101 offers unprecedented backstage access to a band on the cusp of musical legend. Very highly recommended.

8.0 DVD Talk | Randy Miller III

101 is a mixed bag. It's very interesting for hardcore fans, and is most likely a favorite of anyone who attended a Depeche Mode concert from that tour. However, it seems a bit light and fluffy at times, almost like a Road Rules episode that the band crashed...only much more funny.
