Anyone with even the slightest interest in science and "deep" history will find a treasure trove of information here. It's just the highlights, but the highlights are enough to thrill.

"How the Earth Was Made" is a welcome no-nonsense documentary from the History Channel which sticks rigidly to the cosmic timeline with no New Age pseudo-philosophy or Nazi prophecies to distract from the proceedings.

Though the scope of the film is awfully large for a ninety minute documentary, How The Earth Was Made covers its bases surprisingly well, taking viewers through a step-by-step evolution of our planet.

If the program has any faults, it may be its economy. A mere 90 minutes is far to brief to tackle such an enormous subject, and the show is so densely packed, and moves so quickly, that it tends to overwhelm.
